Attending Veterinarians
The attending veterinarian is essential to the success of regulated facilities. They promote animal welfare through the provision of adequate veterinary care and by overseeing the animal care and use program.
Facilities are required to ensure that their attending veterinarian has the authority to direct the animal care and use program. This means attending veterinarians may receive occasional calls from our inspectors either during or after an on-site inspection to follow up on a facility's program of veterinary care. The information you provide on behalf of your client will help us ensure the animals are receiving adequate care in accordance with your guidance.
